 Module 2 Lecture Summary

The video titled, The Future is Faster than you think, gave insights on the driving forces for accelerating technological advancements. These include hardware improvements increasing what machines can do, more startups due to more ideas, and a lot of capital from venture capital funding. 

The article, Trends in Computing and Software Development,  revealed that AI will be a tool to make Software Development more efficient. Recommending methods and syntax based one's current assignment is an example of similar things it will do. It won't be able to build a complex system. 

The video titled, Introduction to Project Management, shared different aspects. involved in project management. This includes a project manager, stakeholders, PMO, project management, and project portfolios. 

From the OLI I learned factors that are important for teamwork. These include reading body language, being collaborative, and being easy to work with.

Part 1: Review and Reflect Learning Strategy

From the Review and Reflect Learning strategy reading I noted what I'm good at and what I'm weak in. I'm good at having everything I need to study before hand, highlighting, and studying no less than 30-90 minutes after a meal. I'm weak at SQ3R( Survey, Question, Read, Recite and Review), read chapter summaries before reading the chapter, never studying 30 minutes before going to sleep.

Part 3: Project Management Basics

        I've gained insight into successful project management. The first is that the project manager has to be proficient at time management, scope management, money management, and quality management. Another insight is the work break-down structure, which breaks down all the work that needs to be done for a project into their own components. The last insight is the Gantt chart, which breaks down the amount of time needed to complete each component of a project and the whole project.

Part 4: Check Out Previous Milestones

    The three presentations I'll be writing about are Mirrored Fantasy, Pet Recs, and Traffic Tracker . 

    Mirrored Fantasy was a game project that was well done. I enjoyed learning what's required to make a game. I think the project could have been improved if the developer used  platforms that would have made their development easier/more efficient.

     Pet Recs was a well done web application that hosted pet medical records. The presentation was thorough as it briefed the audience on a significant portion of the application. I can't think of a way in which the project could have been improved. 

    Traffic Tracker is well done a software that keeps a log of how many customers enter or leave a retail store particular time. The presentation was informative and easy to understand. I think the project could have improved by having multiple people in the group instead of one.
